Munawar Faruqui is a stand-up comedian from India who’s always up in light for his comedy. He’s best known for his YouTube videos, like “Ghost Stories”, “Dawood, Yamraj and Aurat”. He was born in Junagadh in Gujarat on the 28th of January, 1992. His full name is Munawar lqbal faruqui and his whole family was a victim of the Gujarat riots in 2002.

Early Life :
His house was destroyed during communal riots in Gujarat and his family faced a lot of difficulties to survive. His mother committed suicide when he was 16 years old. After his mother’s suicide, his father quit his job and moved to Dongri in Mumbai from Junagadh in 2007 to start a new life.
Struggling Phase :
In 2008, his dad got sick, so Munawar Faruqui had to take on the responsibility of getting her three sisters married. After that, he started making money by selling utensils at a shop. He did this during the day and studied computer at night. Once he finished his computer course, he got a job as a graphic designer at an agency.
During this time, he found out he was really good at making funny lines for posters. After that, he decided to pursue a career in standup comedy. Inspired by standup, he started working at an open mic, and his family encouraged him to do whatever he wanted. But as time went on, his family stopped encouraging him to do standup comedy.
Rise of Munawar Faruqui:
As he got more and more popular, people started coming up to him for selfies and the family figured out that stand up comedy could be a full time job. Eventually, he did his first Gujarati show in July 2019 at a venue in Mumbai called “Dodh Dahyo”. He then uploaded his standup videos on his YouTube channel, which he called his “self-titled” YouTube channel, in January 2020, and they really took off.
He came to fame in April 2020 when he released his first video on his channel. It was called “Dawood, Yamraaj and Aurat”, and it went viral. Over 12 million people have watched it so far! He then released his first official song ‘Jawab’ in August 2020 with the help of Indian singer Spectra.
In 2021, he made his second YouTube channel,”Munawar Faruqui 2.0” where he plays games and streams them live on YouTube. In 2022, he won a reality show on MX Player’ named “Lock Upp” which was hosted by the queen of Bollywood, Kangana ranaut.
In 2023, He was also a part of Colors TV’s reality show “Bigg Boss 17” hosted by the Bollywood star, Salman Khan.
